1988
Dräxlmaier celebrates its 30th anniversary. At ceremonies marking the event, Fritz Dräxlmaier, Sr. stresses, "that the enormous growth in the past is not just management's achievement. A key factor has been the cooperation of all of our employees in a fruitful, understanding community." He accepts the Bavarian Medal of Honor on behalf of all the approximately 3,400 employees from Bavarian politician Franz Josef Strauss.

1990
The concept of customer-specific wire harnesses provides the catalyst for the rapid transition from a Lower Bavarian group of companies to an international enterprise. Dräxlmaier becomes the first supplier capable of reacting to customers' mass-production needs by manufacturing and delivering customized electrical systems in lot size 1 and just in sequence. Customer-specific wire harnesses become a reality for all three major customers - Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi - within the space of a single year.
